Dialogues Concert

- description of setup process (mixer / limiter / compressor / etc)
- Use of equalization to remove harsh frequencies
- advantages of DI over microphones
- Visual component (children's DVD - Galaxy Ranger Force - colors inverted)
- projection of laser grid onto ground
- use of children's toys, candy, and artwork to create a playful atmosphere
- contrast to the seriousness of the event and the overly academic, pretentious nature of installation art in general
- sense of fun and play to our concert, use of humor and irony through our appropriation of children's melodies and sound effects (pop goes the weasel)
- juxtaposition of 'normal' pre-programmed beats and coherent melodies with squealing noise and drones later on, with a return to 'childhood' at the end of the piece

Recorded live at the Dialogues concert at InSpace in Edinburgh, Mar. 26th, 2010.

Captured on AT3035 condenser microphone, routed through mixer in mono, then into Edirol recorder.
